RE: windows easy reansfer
Windows Easy Transfer is not meant to be a backup program. Easy Transfer does
not remove the files from your computer. In Vista you have Backup and Restore
Center. Backup does not remove the files.
Sounds like you want to free up disk space. You can create appropriate
folders on your USB drive and move your data files (or some of them) there.
Since music and picture files tend to take up a lot of space, you could keep
those on the external drive.
