Recent items not displaying

I have a friend who I installed windows vista home basic for. I have home
premium and the recent items works fine but on home basic it just says
empty. I have tried everything possible to make it work but I can't find the
source of the problem. Can anybody help??

Hi Luke and all,

Did you try to right click on the Task Bar and open its properties window,
select the Start Menu folder, in the confidentiality area you can check
options that relate to your problem. Cheers,
