Favorites Folder Redirected and now not working

OK, not a serious issue, but definately an annoyance.
I have redirected all my folders to my D:/DATA drive to prevent losing
any information in the future.
This includes my Outlook Data files as well as my Internet Explorer
Favorites Folder.
The problem, is that now, there are no Favorites in IE 7, nor can
Adding to Favorites work.
How can I undo this?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there!

How did you move the folder location? drag and drop or by using the location
tab in the folder properties? If you just moved it IE can't find it
automatically anymore.

Re: Favorites Folder Redirected and now not working

Hi.
If memory serves, I did the same procedure as the My Documents folder.
I right clicked and said change location.
Problem is I don't recall where the original folder was before.
Now I can't even "add to favorites"

Any suggestions?

/Marc

Open a command prompt with elevated rights. Navigate to your Favorites
folder and type icacls favorites /setintegritylevel (OI)(CI)low

That's a very interesting command line. Mind telling me (us?) just what it
does?

Re: Favorites Folder Redirected and now not working

I wondered the same thing. i) it doesn't solve the problem at hand
(actually prompted me with a "incorrect parameter" response, and ii)
when telling someone in a forum that they need to set anything with a
"priority" to low should include an explanation as to what specifically
it accomplishes.

It certainly doesn't indicate that it would affect a Folder.

So since there is no way to uninstall IE7 and reinstall it, is there
anyone who can tell me how to restore my IE7 Favorites?

Problem solved. I installed Firefox and all my favorites are bookmarked.
End of story.

At a command prompt type

icacls /?

and all options will be explained. A basic description is that icacls sets
permissions on directories and files.
