Changing the "Thumbnail-Folder" and Folder Backgrounds??
Hello, I'm really desperate, I've searched everywhere for a solution to
these seemingly "minor" problems, but they impact my ability to enjoy
vista incredibly.
Thumbnail-Folder:
I changed the standard yellow folder icon to a green one, however
Folders that preview pictures (which is practically EVERY folder and its
grandma) are STILL ugly and yellow, opened with some papers or pics in
it.
I do *NOT* want to turn off thumbnails as a whole, and I quite like the
folder-thumbnail-function aswell as the file-thumbnail-function. But I
NEED a way to change the thumbnail-folder icon! :shock:
Does the .ico file I use for the standard folder icon have to have a
special structure? Does vista take the thumbnailed-folder icon from some
special .dll?? I am really confused how I can resolve this!
2nd problem: Folder backgrounds!
In XP, I used a modified desktop.ini and attrib+s<folder name>
Code:
--------------------
[ExtShellFolderViews]
{BE098140-A513-11D0-A3A4-00C04FD706EC}={BE098140-A513-11D0-A3A4-00C04FD706EC}
[{BE098140-A513-11D0-A3A4-00C04FD706EC}]
Attributes=1
IconArea_Image=.\Folder Settings\Background.bmp
--------------------
to give my most important folders like D:\Music a background (repeated
image of notes, which looked beautiful).
However in Vista it does not work. "Customize folder..." doesn't work
either, so how does this work in Vista?
Thanks a lot if you can help me with these problems!!
