Can't Open ZIP Attachments Over 1MB

Regardless of which mail program I use, Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 or
Windows Mail (both on Windows Vista Business platform) everytime someone
emails me a
..zip attachment over 1MB and I try to open it, Vista says that it's Invalid
or Corrupt.

Even when I attach .zip files and email them to myself I receive the same
message. I have even saved the .zip file to my desktop and tried opening it
on another computer running Windows XP... the zip filed cannot be opened on
XP either... now I understand that occassionally zipped folder/files can
become corrupt but every attachement I am sent is Invalid or Corrupt.

Its only a problem with ZIP files. Does anyone know why this is happening?
