Brookie,
This behavior is controlled by a setting. Check the search settings for
the Start menu by right-clicking on a blank area of the menu and choosing
properties. Then click the Customize button on the Start Menu tab. Scroll
down to the item "search programs" and enable it. Now, when search
returns a named program , focus should shift to that name in the results
list and pressing Enter should run it.
