For instance, if you buy a new computer from Dell or Toshiba these days,
there will be 2 partitions on your hard drive. One partition will be
used by the OS and the other will be a "hidden" partition that the OS
uses to make restore points on to that you normally cannot access.

Umm... I think you'd better check out your info source. The hidden
partition is NOT for storing restore points.
