CheckDisk CHKDSK

chi, i am running a vista basic on my laptop, and it just recently did
something called checkdisk, and it made it so i cant see any of my pictures,
of change anything for personalization, like the backround. And the theme
isnt vista, it is the old windows 2000 theme, and i cant change that. does
anybody know what happened, or how i can fix this??

Windows' CHKDSK wouldn't do that.

Why did you run whatever it was that you ran, and what ELSE did you
do?

well, i set it to hibernate last night, then pressed and held the off button
because i wanted it off right away

ScanDisk A DOS utility included only in Windows 95/98/ME that detected and
repaired errors on disk. Similar to the Chkdsk utility, ScanDisk reclaimed.

well, i think it is because i have an internet filter on m computer, and
every website is blocked, so it cant update itself.
