how to reinstall public /desktop

I accidentally deleted it folder and now any program i try to install it
says cant acess folder public/desktop and it fails all installation

Hi,

If you have not emptied your Recycle bin, - right click the Recycle bin
and click Open - if the Public Desktop folder is there, click it and
click Restore this item.

i havent deleted it today. i deleted long ago but never had the issue
with installation before it says code 1606. cant find network location
Public/Desktop and therefore i cant finish any installation

firstly I'm not sure if this will work

enter *shellublic\desktop* into the start menu search bar and press
enter, and It should recreate your missing folder. If the folder exists
(like on my set up), it takes you to the folder and standard function
for special shell folders is to create them if they do not exist

I would backup any important files. Then boot from the OS CD and try a
repair...
