Organising folders in Explorer
When I open Windows explorer it opens at the start menu and I have to scroll
up to get to my 'documents' .
At the top of the left pane I have 'Desktop' followed by 'user name'
followed by 'public' followed by Compuer, which i spread out in all its glory.
I would like to change it so that 'user name ' is opened up and Computer is
closed so that I have 'Documents' under my user name on the screen as soon as
I open explorer.
I am using Home Premium and not very experienced so please any advice in
words of one syllable.

Thanks for your help

Re: Organising folders in Explorer
Hi Wildman,
You can use something like example 3 in this tutorial using the target
below instead.
%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /n, /root, c:\ /select, c:\Users\(your
username)\Documents
http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/71...t-opening.html
Hope this helps,
Shawn

Why not just do Start-Documents?

Re: Organising folders in Explorer
Thanks for the reply Brink, I am having trouble getting into the tutorial.
However, looking at the solution you gave me, won't that only open up
'Documents" under the C drive? I want to open my 'user name' which is above
the 'C' drive.

Customize the Start Menu and you can add a link or menu for Personal Folder.
Which is your "User" folder.....

Re: Organising folders in Explorer
Wildman,
I agree with Gordon. It may be easier to setup the dark right side of
the Start Menu for this. You can do it in the Start Menu Customize
options. You can see how to in this tutorial if needed.

Hope this helps,
