By accident got rid of program... can you get it back?
Well, hello everyone my name is Melissa. I am not really good at all this
stuff. I usually have a friend help me. However, he has been very busy. I
would like help so I don't have to wait for him. First off about 3 months
ago or so my computer was running really slow. I do have windows vista by
the way. So he came by and deleted some things. It started running much
better. My sister also uses and helps with my computer needs. She realized
I had our friend delete acer arcade. That is the source for watching my
dvd's. Is there any way I can get that back for free. It came with my
computer, I just thought it was some arcade thing that I never played with.
Can anyone help? If so I would REALLLLLLY appreciate it. Thank you.

You should have received some CDs with your computer when you bought it. The
preinstalled software like Acer Arcade will be there. If you didn't get
CDs, contact Acer tech support to find out how you can reinstall the
program.

You should have gotten some CDs for preinstalled software. If you didn't,
look in the user manual (paper or on your hard drive for a contact phone
number) or go to acer.com and get tech support.

Re: By accident got rid of program... can you get it back?
These acer desktop's do not come with CD's nor manuals. Just the cardboard box.

What they do have is a pre programmed chip on the mother board that contains
the origional Vista OS and software that the PC came with.

The sorry part is that you cannot install just one application. Its the
whole system that is reinstated. Which means that you will loose all of your
data and any updates that may of been installed if this option is used to
reinstall "factory settings".
Thus you will have to do data backup.

cheers.

It's not a chip. That material is on a hidden partition "D". Often, when
the system is first turned on the user is presented with the option to burn
a DVD recovery disc from that partition. If one isn't burned, it can be
done later.
