restoring backup files on vista
Hi I have a toshiba notebook u305 and kept reciving the blue screen of death when I called toshiba they told me that I needed to restore the computer back to factory specs with the system recovery disks that came with the computer. So I did and before that I made a fresh set of backup discs. After finishing the factory system recovery I tried to restore the back up disks that came with the system but can't get them to load right. When I called toshiba they said that I should copy and paste the files from the disk to the desktop but I have 3 full dvd's of information and that doesn't seem right is there anyone who can help. When I go to system restore it says that there wasn't a previous backup point made.
Thanks Brian

And just how did you make these "backup" disks? BTW, System Restore ONLY
restores system files, as in the name. It does NOT restore data.

I did it through the back up and restore center and clicked on back up files.
