Windows Explorer Has Stopped Working

Hi,

I am receiving this message when viewing some folders, the problem seems to
relate to the details file view. If I change the file view to large icons for
instance the problem has gone.

Firstly, does anyone know a fix for that issue

or

Does anyone know how I change ALL files to show as large icons even if I
have not been in that folder before.
