deleting hidden files

bought my pc back in march and a couple of months later I added vista basic
from a disc given free . I've now sold the pc as I have a mac powerbook but
there seems to be still around 40gb of files on the hard drive .I've searched
everywhere but cannot find them to delete them , please someone help me as
I've got to hand the pc over tomorrow eveing

Hi John,

Since you sold the computer to someone else, you might be better off
formatting the hard drive and do a clean install to make sure all your
personal information is off of it. If this is a upgrade version of
Vista, then this tutorial will show you how to do a clean install with
it.
