virtual store folder!!!!!

Hi all,

I just had to put in a new hard drive and when I now I download say a list
from a site to save or my ini files they all keep going to the "app data"
file which is hidden and in a sub directory called virtual store. What is
this. It use to on old hard drive go to the correct place not hidden. I am
the administrator but set up a user log on as I did before. no matter if
under administrator or other user they still go to hidden place. help before
I lose it please. have been here hours trying to fix. I did read the other
replies someone asked earlier and they say turn off UAC then Ronnie Vernon
said no no no don't do. Before new hard drive I had explorer protect mode
and no hidden files to hunt for. so what setting am I missing. Will hope to
hear from someone.
