Copying files to CD DVD

Cannot do this on Vista 64 bit. Get either format error or cannot complete
error. DVD maker works fine. Plextor PX712SA that does it all fine on XP
Pro. Suggestions? Thanks.

For third party apps, Nero or Roxio or ??? and why? Thanks.

ISO Recorder works fine for me and is free.
