Real Terminal Needed
My suggestion is to add a fully functional "Terminal" into Windows Vista.
The best examples of what I mean when I say "Terminal" is the terminals that
are present in Linux, UNIX, and Mac OS X.

I am student and software developer. Not having a terminal that functions
with the same features as that present in the operating systems I mentioned
above is frustrating. I love being able to compile multiple languages in a
"True" command line (not DOS-Prompt).

I don't like having to SSH into another computer to compile my programs. If
such a feature was present in Vista Ultimate edition that supported the same
compilers & commands that are present in Unix/Linux/Mac OS X's terminals;
using Vista would provide me with every tool I could ever use. To me, that
would make my life so much easier.

RE: Real Terminal Needed
Why don't you just get a Mac! With Terminal on OS X, you can ftp into your
school server, write code and compile it with gcc, all without any additional
additions or cost! Pay attention Mr. Gates!

Hmm, interesting tool, but it suffers from most everything Microsoft does,
no compliance with standards that are already available. Why not just produce
a sanctioned version of bash for Windows. I know it is already available
through Cygwin, and Microsoft won't ever officially endorse open source
solutions on their platform. Still, reinventing the wheel all the time just
adds confusion and makes it harder on the developers who have to learn some
new non-standard when working on the Microsoft OS's.
