How does Vista deal with non-roaming domain user profiles?

On XP, when a domain user logged out their profile was left behind in
Documents and Settings so I ran a weekly script to clear all old profiles out.

However in Vista, these profiles seem to stay behind, and if I delete them
manually then they are always logged in using a TEMP user profile which then
disappears after they logout.

Ideally I simply want domain users profiles not to be retained as I had in
XP so that every login produces a completely renewed profile - generated from
the \Users\Default profile and various GPO settings.

Try using a Mandatory Profile then. That will reset the profile for an
user after every session. Personally, I can't even get roaming
profiles to work in Vista. So ... that just the theory I know from
Server 2003 and XP.
