Sounds like you're on the right track. Try this:
1. Click the Start button and click the picture at the top right of the
Start menu (above your user name). That opens the User Account page.
2. Click Manage Another Account, then click Continue or OK.
3. Click Create a New Account.
4. Type in the person's first name and click Create Account.
That's all there is to it. It should work.
To log into the new account click the Start button, click the arrow to the
right of the lock symbol, and choose Log Off. You'll be taken to the login
screen. You should see an icon for the new user account.
