Admin privilage
Hello,

When trying to run some programs or use unlock codes I am told I need admin
privilages although I am an administrator. I see from previous treads I am
not the only one with this problem but I dont see any answers. Any ideas.
This is really frustrating.

Re: Admin privilage

Your user may be in the administrators group but only the superuser
Administrator can perform functions without needing to approve UAC. You
can disable UAC altogether if you want to though.

Hi Jack,
Right click on the programs you are trying to run and select "Run as
administrator".

Re: Admin privilage
Thanks guys. As I am the owner and main user can you tell me how I become a
superuser administrator. I should be able to manage this but I find Vista
difficult. I can see myself going back to XP. I did n't seem to have so many
problems. I will switch of UAC and let you know how I get on. Thanks again

Jack, do NOT disable UAC. It's there to protect your computer. Joe was
trying to tell you enabling the Real Built-in Administrator, except that
you probably don't know what he meant by " command prompt ". The link
below will show you how to use the Real Built-in Admin. to do the job
you required. Please reply if it works or not.

Re: Admin privilage
Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the time you've taken with this. UAC is back on and I
printed off the article on admins. I am going to have to read it through
before I do anything. Away working until next week but will let you know how
I get on.

Thanks again

Re: Admin privilage
Hi There,

Followed that link and found some good info. No problem following the
instructions and I can now access the superuser administrator. There are
still folders, however, that I still cannot ope. Have decided enough is
enough and will revert to XP. Its not just this issue but even navigating
around folders has been made more difficult.

Thanks for all you help.
