Admin but not Admin
I'm curious, is there a way on this good planet to get FULL access to MY
COMPUTER?

I am attempting to manually clean-up some drivers in the System32, getting
the notorious nvldkmmkm has stopped working error.. or whatever... and I
don't have access! I try to unclick the read-only box but it still tells me
I don't have access or it just won't stick! (the check-mark in the box is
gray, but it lets me unclick it... but it still wont stick)

I am on my Administrator account, the only account on this computer. It is
ridiculous that I just don't have access to my own Vista which I paid 400
bucks for. How do I give myself (the Administrator) permission to be the
Administrator under my Adminstrator account so I can troubleshoot this damn
Vista related driver error?

RE: Admin but not Admin
Hi John,

In Vista, there are actually 2 administrator accounts. One of these is the
account that you set up when you install Vista, the other is a built-in
account which is disabled by default. I refer you to my post 'Activating the
built-in main Administrator Account' also in this newsgroup (dated
10/12/2007). The driver you mention is actually part of the Nvdidia graphics
driver. These are in constant development, so a newer driver might be able to
fix your problem. I currently use the latest WHQL driver, version 169.25, and
have had no problems with it whatsoever. Links to my post and the relevant
Nvidia websites are given below.
