Windows Vista Update error 80073712

I had turned off my Vista box for a little over a month, just wanted
to play with other systems a while. When I recently reconnected my
Vista machine and tried to execute Windows Update I got the error
code: 80073712. I found, through a Windows User Group a set of
instructions to correct the problem that included running a Registry
Delete from the cmd prompt for something called StoreDirty. I did
that, rebooted for good measure and tried Windows Update again with
the same error message. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
