unable to log on as administrator

this is the message i get
the user profile service failed the logon
user profile cannot be loaded
i can log onto my sons account but cant restore because it wont except my
password i have tried switching user and starting in safe mode nothing happens
can anyone help

Hi Roy, sorry to bother you, I installed some updates from Microsoft, then
restarted the Computer , my operating system is Vista Premium and when it
rebooted I got the same message as you, I can't change anything and when I
click on my proile, it logs off and back again as before. Can you please tell
me if you have managed to find a solution to the problem? Thanks in advance.

sorry but i ended up reinstaling vista from sratch thats all i could do but i
have made sure that i have two administraters. one that i will only use in an
emergency
