ACL

I am pretty sure I meesed up the access rights for some files in "Windows"
and/or "system32". is there a place I get get the standard set that has been
saved using icacls?

I don't think that the icacls /restore command will work unless you have
explicitly saved the ACL state of particular files or folders.

The only thing I can suggest is a System Restore back to a point before you
made the changes.

Thanks. For some reason I have only 10 days of restore points. I have to
check into that. Strangley an upgrade in place also doesn't work, i.e.
upgrading from Vista to Vista because of a "one of more system component..."
message.
