Forefront without domain

I am looking to migrate to AD. But that will take time, but I feel I need
to install a good security product right away. Can Forefront be installed
without a domain?

I get the feeling that is not good but I do need to get something installed
now, and would like to go with Forefront.

u can install fcs on a workgroup machine, (clientsetup.exe /nomom) and the
simplest way is to get the updates via the internet manually.

This is under the assumption that u are working on a AD, and AD is not setup
yet.

Are you talking about Forefront Client Security? You can install FCS client
software on all machines without AD.
