FSC, Server 2008 Core, WSUS?
Hello,

I'm currently looking into running FSC on Server 2008 Core. It
installs fine, and I've setup the server to report to our local WSUS
server.

In WSUS the server is listed, but there are 24 pending updates. I've
approved thoose updates to the correct computer group which the Server
2008 Core is located.

This is the settings for the client WSUS:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Win dows\WindowsUpdate]
"ElevateNonAdmins"=dword:00000001
"WUServer"="http://wsus.X"
"WUStatusServer"="http://wsus.X"
"TargetGroupEnabled"=dword:00000001
"TargetGroup"="DNS"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Win dows\WindowsUpdate
\AU]
"NoAutoUpdate"=dword:00000000
"AUOptions"=dword:00000004
"ScheduledInstallDay"=dword:00000000
"ScheduledInstallTime"=dword:00000003
"RescheduleWaitTimeEnabled"=dword:00000000
"NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUsers"=dword:00000001
"DetectionFrequencyEnabled"=dword:00000001
"DetectionFrequency"=dword:00000014
"AutoInstallMinorUpdates"=dword:00000000
"RebootWarningTimeoutEnabled"=dword:00000001
"RebootWarningTimeout"=dword:00000005
"RebootRelaunchTimeoutEnabled"=dword:00000001
"RebootRelaunchTimeout"=dword:0000000a
"UseWUServer"=dword:00000001
"RescheduleWaitTime"=dword:00000001

But FSC is still reporting that new updates is available. The
definitions is from 2006, so it seems no patches is applied at all.
I've tried to execute wuauclt /detectnow, but it doesn't help.

I've tried to use the WSUS client diagnostic utility from Microsoft
but it is unable to execute. Probably because it is Core edt...

Any tips?

Re: FSC, Server 2008 Core, WSUS?
Hi Tore,

I would start by looking into %windir%\WindowsUpdate.log to see what the WUA
on the client could tell you. Maybe you could post it here?

Kind regards
