forefront client at home computer

I install just the simple client on my company pc (with domain) on a xp sp2
machine. I've not setup the forefront infrastructure yet.

However it cannot get windows updates. And i need to go to portal to install
updates manually.

Does this mean that *home client* means it cannot run on domain network
environment ? What happen if my home pc is part of home network which
consists of a home domain ?

Have you followed the part:
Configuring your computer to use Microsoft Update

Also, make sure you are able to receive updates from MU/WU id FCS is not
installed.
