Crackling audio

Today I received the Inspiron 1501 I ordered from Dell. It has Windows Vista
Home Basic preinstalled.

When I try to play music (using whatever player), the sound cracks.

When I open the Power Manager and use the High Performance setting it seems
the crackling sound gets less, but the sound is still rather crackling. It
stil irritates me.

The Inspiron 1501 has a Sigmatel soundcard. The driver is a Sigmatel High
Definition Codec.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Waarom vraag je dat hier? je hebt een splinternieuwe PC gekocht van Dell. Daar moet
je zijn met je klacht. Deze is verantwoordelijk voor een goedwerkend product.

Kennelijk een knullige sound-driver ... zie ook:

Als dat gekraak ook optreedt als je een CD afspeelt: terug naar de
winkel (maar of dat met zo'n postorderbedrijf ook gaat .... :-( )
