16 Instances Of KB936181
I have WinXP Home.

Since 21 August 2008, each time that I shut down I have been given the
option of installing an update.

When I look in "Review your update history", I can see that there are 16
instances of:

.. . . . . Security Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2
(KB936181)

All instances have the green check "Succeeded"

What action should I take?

That's your thread, Alan.
This newsgroup, Microsoft Update *Catalog*, deals with issues related to
the Catalog.
