sp3 and standby

Upon installing sp3 I have had problems with standby. Standby shuts down like
it should but when I go to wakeup the computer hangs up and can only be
restarted by holding the power button down till the computer shuts down.
Should I remove sp3 and what should I know about the uninstall process to
make this work right?

What is the Display Adapter [video card] installed ?
I'd first try uninstalling it from within Device Manager, restart the
system, and allow Plug and Play to reinstall it.
If that doesn't resolve the issue, visit the manufacturer's web site to
see if a more recent driver package is available.
