Downloaded... now how do I install it?

Skipping the gory details, I need to install a patch to fix a problem with my
wireless optical mouse and screensavers not working.


I've downloaded the correct update file, but can't figure out how to install
it. It's a driver, but not for any real hardware -- just a piece of software
that filters HID input to remove spurious stuff that's keeping Windows from
detecting idle.

What I got was a CAB file that contains an inf, sys, cat, and dll. How do I
install this? Trying to fake it through "Add/Remove Hardware" and pointing to
the inf didn't work, as it doesn't match the hardware item I picked at random
during the install process (thought this would work, as the inf should cause
the right stuff to be actually installed in the registry, right?)

Anyway, how do I install this? I don't seem to have update.exe or hotfix.exe
on my system (WinXP Pro SP2) -- guessing that's part of a resource kit or one
of the server platforms.

Help, please.

Try with a Right click on the .INF file, then install.
