Unfortunately, "it stopped working" does not provide sufficient detail
for someone to be able to help you. We don't even know what version of
Windows you have. So we can't possibly know whether reinstalling IE 8 is
in your best interests.
Here's my guess at what your original problem was:
"You receive an error message in Internet Explorer: "Internet Explorer
cannot display the webpage"
