Error message when closing IE 8
When *I* close Internet Explorer 8, I get a message implying that the
software closed on its own due to a problem:

"Internet Explorer has stopped working. A problem has caused the program to
stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a
solution is available."

Re: Error message when closing IE 8
Always state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; Vista 64-bit SP2;
Win7 RC; Win7) as well as your IE version when posting in an IE-specific
forum or newsgroup. Please do so in your next reply.

1. Does the behavior persist if you start IE in No Add-ons mode?

2. Does the behavior persist if you Reset IE Advanced settings (RIES)?

3. What anti-virus application or security suite is installed, is your
subscription current, and is it supported in IE8? What anti-spyware
applications (other than Defender)? What third-party firewall (if any)?

4. Has a(nother) Norton or McAfee application ever been installed on this
machine (e.g., a free-trial version that came preinstalled when you bought
it)?
