IE8 deleting links and favorites

Just recently updated to Windows 7 Home Premium, 64bit.
Since then I randomly have sites dropped from my favorites bar and also from
the favoites location where that link was stored.

Any ideas?

Look at the post "is something strange happing" on 11/14/2009. Which
specific bookmarks are missing.

banking site for another

seems random and maybe related to a site previously accessed.
