IE7 Screen Fill

Most websites I visit have an image much wider than my screen,I constantly
use the scroll bar to read the screen.

Also when I launch a second screen in a new window the window is minimized,I
constantly have to maximize the window.

I can't find much info on how to permanently fix these two conditions.

Can someone tell me how to adjust IE7 for a better fit?

Are you zoomed in? Do you have a high DPI setting for the desktop? What
screen resolution do you use?

From personal experience most sites are designed with 1024x768 as the lowest
common screen resolution, so if you have your screen set to something lower
(eg. 800x600) then that would be the cause of the problem. Adjust your
resolution to cure this.

The DPI and IE zoom settings can also have a big effect here too. Set your
zoom to 100%, and your desktop DPI setting to 96 (the default).

Open just one single IE window. Drag it to almost fill the screen (do not
use the maximise button!). Close that IE window. Now any new windows should
open to that size. The size of any new IE window will be the non-maximised
size of the last IE window you closed.

Maximise the window by 'stretching' to fit the screen.

Close window, then click on a new link. It should
then open to correct size.
