Old favourites to Internet Explorer in Windows 7

After a disk crash I have a new PC with Windows 7. I have a backup of the
favourites folder from the old PC. How do I get them into the new version of
IE?
I have tried to remove the favourites folder on the new PC and copy the old
to the same place, but IE does not find them. And I have tried to copy the
subfolders from favourites on the old PC to the favourites folder on the new.
But in IE I can only see the folders and links created on that PC. What can I
do?

Hi,
To avoid permission problems, create appropriately named folders on the new
computer. Copy the favorites (boolmarks/internet shortcuts) not the folders
or sub-folders to the new computer.
