Significance of Tab Colors in IE8

What is the significance of the different tab colors in IE8? Some are green,
some purple, and other colors pop up. I'm running Win7 RC 7100

Say you're viewing a web page and you open a link on that web page in a
new tab. Both tabs have the same color, to show you the relationship.

I've noticed that a concept of tab group has been introduced.
When I hold ctrl and click a link the tab is created for that window at the
end of that current group of tabs, all with a particular tab group colour,
apparently chosen by some rotation of stock colours.
