whenever i try to log off a window appears with a process
a top the window appears 'rundll32.exe.at the bottom end now.
hit that button,a different window opens "the program is not responding.my
pc is also very sluggish

That's actually a fairly common occurrence and may be nothing to worry
about.

What the message means is that one of the applications you have running
is not closing properly on its own (we call this 'closing gracefully')
so Windows needs to forcibly evict it in order to close. Sometimes that
application is actually malware - which doesn't care whether it closes
gracefully - but more on that later.

First thing to do is to look at Event Viewer, which may tell you which
application is causing the trouble. After that, you'll have to do
process-of-elimination troubleshooting to determine the culprit.

It's also worthwhile to thoroughly scan your system for malware. A
once-over pass with <name of program> is not going to cut it.

Here's another way to possibly find out: Before you close Windows, open
Task Manager to the Processes tab and sort the processes by User Name.
Look at the processes running under your account - anything look unusual
to you?
