Modified dates in favorites all changed

I just noticed that every single internet shortcut (hundreds) on my
IE8 Favorites folder (and all sub-forlders) is now showing the exact
same date/time stamp (10/17/09 2:03 p.m., fwiw). This is a Vista 64-
bit machine we've had since June.

Nothing was installed on that date, nor was anything restored from
back-up. I've checked other folders under my ID as well as the
Favorites folder under my wife's and don't see the same issue.

What process besides install/restore could cause a mass-reset of
modified date/time in my IE8 Favorites folder?

More significantly, are your wife's all the same timestamp too?

Opening the Favorites bar? Using favicons in there? Who knows?
Often reported bug. WYSIWWG. Use ProcMon if you want to
watch it happen.

Thanks for reading and replying. No, as I said, I did not see the
issue with my wife's favorites, only mine.
