IE8 detecting incorrect display settings

For the past 2 days IE8 has been detecting a very low screen resolution
though my laptop is set to the highest setting. What caused this & how do I
fix it?
Anyone know?

In the right corner of the status bar, do you see a little magnifying
glass? Click the downward-facing arrow next to it, and choose 100%.
