Animated smilies not working

Have IE 8 installed and have tried to get them to work on different forums
and none work. Have Avira anti-virus trail version.Windows XP Home Edition
service pack 3Any ideas??

Hi,
1. Internet Options> Advanced> Multimedia, is "Play animations" checked?

2. Some firewalls (ZoneAlarm, for one) will block animations. Check ZA
settings (if you have it installed.) Sorry, I don't know which specific
option you're looking for.
