Yes I had the same problem when running with no add-ons.
I have XP machine with SP3.
Somehow I think I fixed it late last night. I went to: Start, All Programs,
Accessories, System Tools, and Disc Cleanup. Favorites is working again.
I do have a different sitution...don't know if is a problem or not?
When I use windows explorer and look at c:windows directory I see lots of
folders that read something similiar to: $NtUninstallKB834707$ and inside is
a folder: Suninst and some *.ddl files.
I uninstalled some programs lately.
