Re: Can't Set IE 8 as default on Vista
Hi,
From Start> Control Panel or Start> Settings> Control Panel, go to Default
Programs> Set Program Access and Computer Defaults> Custom> (expand with
down carats) make sure that "Enable access" is checked and make IE the
default.
What other browsers are installed?
Which appears to be the default?
-
Hope this helps,
Don

Re: Can't Set IE 8 as default on Vista
Hi,
I would uninstall/reinstall IE8, making sure that third-party
antivirus/antispyware programs are disabled during the installation.

Re: Can't Set IE 8 as default on Vista
Sorry, I lost track of this discussion.
In this article
http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/0...windows-vista/
can you browse to Internet Explorer/iexplore.exe?
Have Avant Browser or Maxthon ever been installed on this computer?
If you uninstall Firefox and chrome, can IE be set as the default?
