IE8 url drop down list not working

When I type a new URL in the address bar in IE8 and then press enter, the
site will not show up in the drop down list, if I go and visit another site.
I will have to type the full url including http:// or press shift + enter
for it to appear. I am using Windows XP Professional with SP3. Does anybody
else have this problem and is there a fix for it. I also have another
computer with Windows XP Home Edition with SP2 and IE8 is installed and
doesn't have this issue.

Compare them for their AutoComplete settings.
