erase option in address bar

when I click the little arrow pointing down to open up the last sites I
visited I usualy scroll down with the mouse and click on the address I
desire. In explorer 8 the erase option was added, and it just so happens it
appears right bellow the little arrow. This usualy causes me to erase the
site I wish to visit instead of selecting it. While the erase function is
important, I believe that moving it to the other side of the bar will be a
more user friendly design, since it will cause less of a conflict from what
people were used to.

As it's a new addition, how can it be a conflict with "what people were used
to"? And in any case, most people click in the middle of the address, not
the far right-end....
