IE8 wont open new tabs from links

everytime i try to open a new link by right clicking and choosing new tab,
the new tab option is not even there anymore. how do i get this back and get
it to where links will open in new tabs and not just new windows?

Assuming that you are, in fact, running IE7 or IE8 (which have the tabbed
browsing feature)...
Internet Options> General> Tabs> Settings> (check/select) Enable Tabbed
Browsing.

--I'm having the same problem. Worked fine with IE7, XP SP2. Just
switched to SP3 and IE8 on a fresh install. Tabbed browsing is
enabled, and works fine everywhere I've found. Except for Google. I
can open new tabs from Google images and other pages, but not the
search results on google.com. I guess its an internal Google issue...?
