Outlook Web Access - notification sound when new mail arrives (IE8

Hello
I had IE7 and the OWA feature:
play notification sound when new mail arrives - works ok
show popup alert when new mail arrives - works ok

Now with IE8 i cannot hear the notification wav.
With IE8:
play notification sound when new mail arrives - not working
show popup alert when new mail arrives - works ok

I downgraded to IE7 and it worked again both features.

Then back to IE8, and got again the sound issue.

Any explanation/solution?
Any one with same problem?

I'm having the same issue. No solution yet. Incidentally, the
notification sound plays just fine when a reminder pops up; the
problem is only when new messages arrive.

I haven't try reminder pop-up yet, I'll do it later.

I have just done some testing for the sound issue.
I have confirmed this is an issue with site security in IE8 that was either
not available in IE7 or not enabled by default.

I will provide an update once I have confirmed the exact setting, as I set
all settings to Enable under Trusted Sites, and this enabled me to hear the
alert.

I have confirmed that the setting is:
- Display video and animation on a webpage that does not use external media
player.
This key needs to be set to Enable for sounds to work in OWA.

This needs to be set in the security zone that is associated with your OWA
access.
