IE8 - Internet Explorer folder in Event Viewer always empty
This is on WinXP desktops running IE8

The "Internet Explorer" folder (aka log) in Event Viewer is always
empty.

I can find posts about this problem for IE7 but NOT for IE8.

There is no Registry entry "Feature_Enable_Compat_Logging" as stated
in posts about IE7.

I also checked Local Policies, Auditing, and there is nothing for
"Internet Explorer"

Fix?

You'd first have to enable Application Compatibility Logging. See
http://msmvps.com/blogs/spywaresucks...21/508759.aspx (applies
to IE7 and IE8).

I see. I missed the ref...
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...compat_log.asp
.... essentially you should install the "Application Compatibility
Toolkit" then use it to enable logging.
