IE8 SP1 Timeframe?

Anyone know approx timeframe on the first service pack of #IE8 (IE8 SP1) to
help support smooth deployment?

There are no Service Packs for IE7 and higher. Fixes, improvements, etc.,
are rolled into Cumulative (Security) Updates for IE as well as Windows.

Understood- For IE8, just how many of these (Cumulative Updates) have been
deployed to address issues? Any suggestions for a conservative timeframe to
look beyond isolated testing for broader organizational deployment in
environment that have just step to IE7 as a baseline and are concerned about
interopeability? The 1st service pack used to be that point for us.
