Remove compatibility view button from search bar in IE8

How do you remove that button? It just takes up space.

The button appears when a compatibility view is available for the web
page you are trying to see. You can turn off the compatibility view
feature altogether and you'll never see that horrible button that is
ruining your browsing experience. In that case, you may come across lots
of web pages that look, shall we say, weird in IE 8.
